View Full Version : Another new Valve game?

Check out this (http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/8142) new episode of the 1UP show. The edited version with only the part about this game is included in the link.

The game is called The Crossing and the guy who visited Valve can't say much about it cause it's their cover story for next month but there's a little info on it and a short teaser.

It seems that it's kind of FPS MMO but special than anything else , single player and multiplayer together in some way that it's called "Crossplayer FPS".

The teaser says it's from the creaters of Dark Messiah (Arkane Studios) and and the art director of HL2. I wonder how much can it be called a Valve game , though the 1UP guy was shown the game in Valve's offices and it is considered by the two guys in the clip as a "Valve" game.

The Crossing sounds and looks exciting. What do you think , another ground breaking game from Valve?

Real. You can see the logo in the teaser. This particular image is on Arkane Studios site as you can see under "properties" .

I'm still unsure about the technicality of calling it a Valve game , it's seems more of Arkane Studios game and Valve's part in it is not clear.

Well I guess they're calling it a Valve game because Valve will be distributing it with steam, like the way EA or Ubisoft would publish a game for stores?

It will be interesting to see what they do to crossover the single and multiplayer elements.
The only other game I can think of which has something simular is Spore which is single player but will be partly populated by creatures that have been made by other players.

Didn't spot that topic , sorry. I prolly should mention that in the last couple of weeks the homepage directs me straight to the forums and so I can't see the main page and all the news postings.

I wonder though why the game was shown at Valve. It seems they are lending a helping hand alot these days , heh.
