BF2 Deluxe Edish Question

Just bought BF2 Deluxe, so I went to update it, but it appears like its not updating. There's two patches

I dl'ed the full 1.41 patch, installed it. http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/battlefield2/us/downloads.jsp
I also d'led the special forces update http://www.ea.com/official/battlefield/specialforces/us/downloads.jsp

Now everytime I start my game it states version 1.1.2 whether its thru BF2 or BF2: SF

Also, whenever I start up thru regular BF2, it doesnt do anything after I login, it just sits there and tries to contact their servers. I used by BF 2142 account name, would this have anything to do with that?

I also tried to create a new account but it still just sits there and does nothing.

Do it like this...

Install BF2
Install SF
Install patch.

mine never says the real patch but its there and you can find otu what patch you have in your battlefield 2 folder.
