Got a friend here at work who can't get his Minimap open..everything I've googled for brought back weird results that made to sense to me. Anybody have an idea?

Minimap open? As in, full-screen map? Just hit M for that, not done via the minimap.

nono, the minimap. He can't get it open at all, it's gone...he doesn't know how to get it up again.

Use the repair tool.

If that doesn't work, just re-install it.

If that doesn't work, spill goat blood into your PC and pray to the Dark Lord in tongues.

There's no command to just open up the minimap?

Is there a red X by the zone name? If so, click it.

Isn't there an addon active that disables it? Haven't ever heard of UI elements disappearing without mods. But try deleting your WTF folder (back it up though).

No, everything to do with the minimap is gone...I don't have any idea.

Get rid of any UI add-ons installed. Failing that, delete the WDB and WDF folders. That tends to fix UI glitches. :)
