ok so here's the deal i got hl2 off steam & well i played it through & when there were alot of zombies or anything on the screen it would lag really bad but not bad enough were i couldnt play, i thought that my computer just wasn't fast enough for hl2 but i went to www.srtest.com (a website that tells you if your computer can run a certain game) and it said that not only did my computer meet the minimum for hl2 but it also met the recomended requirements :afro: cool right? but i still dont know why it lags so bad i have all my video settings set on the lowest settings and i have the latest drivers installed here's what I got....
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.93GHz
501.8 MB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family (Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset)
& plenty of free space
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated:farmer:

You haven't really given us much to work with, but your RAM is seriously lacking. 1GB is pretty much minimum requirements these days, no matter what any "back-of-the-box" requirements say.
GFX card??? PSU??? etc etc. Need more info and specs.
Anyway, I guess you COULD try lowering your graphics settings, and make sure only the necessary tasks are running in the background.

its because of that integrated card. its looks to me like you have a pci-e slot so you will need a new video card in order to play with decent fps.

damnit, that kinda what i figured... i thought since it met the requirments it would atleast run somewhat smoothly..

You can pick up a 512mb ATI PCI-e card for like $200 right now...
And yeah, 2gb of RAM would be good, too...

for hl2 2gbs is an overkill. at least 768-1gb is more then enough.

My Half Life 2 lags, but I still manage to cope. I'm gonna try make it better by lowering graphics etc.

Mine lagged only when I was spawning 300 npcs and I fixed it by getting a new pc.
