I finaaly got my new laptop i installed half life two in minates and then i can't play it
it says steam exe can not load library i hope it has to do with internet my laptop has not been hooked up yet
if it not having the net is the problem im just not meant to play the game.
of course. you need to be connected to the internet at least once with steam to then run in offline mode.

Read the box FFS. To play ANY Steam game (YES, HL2 is a Steam game) YOU NEED AN ONLINE CONNECTION. To verify files etc, and for copy protection. It is one of the most contraversial and talked about copy protection / distribution systems around. Anyone who has ever played a game on PC should have heard about Steam by now, especially someone who HAS a Steam game...

My friend rhys doesn't have a net connection and he played through the whole game 3 times. so there must be a way, i should ask him.

You can't argue with the code of the software.
The way it works is when you first install Steam, it connects to the internet to verify the files are legit. After that, you don't need to connect to the internet to play the game.
If he NEVER connected to the internet to play Half-Life 2, then there must be some crack/hack/illegal software of some kind with that game, because you HAVE to have an internet connection to open the software originally.
So no, we won't believe you that he never touched the internet on a legit game.
