Doesn't mean much to me frankly. Tell me about the games!!!

EDIT: Holy f*ck!! That fan is HUGE!!! Its actually pretty amazing that even with a fan like that the PS3 is still quieter than the 360!

Just huddle around your PS3 and plasma tv to keep warm in the winter.
I fear for the future of consoles (and PC's for that matter) when the cooler takes up that much space. :|

Computers will once again be the size of a room! :P

Na, they'll just be implanted in our heads. We WILL have to change out our blood for antifreeze though. That's where it gets tricky.

Holy shit lol, the heat sink and fan take up 1/3 of the ps3's volume by the looks of things, very impressive if you happen to like collecting parts for jet engines on the side.

Haven't even watched the video but judging from your comments I can only imagine it

Quite cool looking. Best comment ever.

"at least they're taking it apart with tools. I remember when the 360 came out last year they just outright destroyed it."

I took a friend's PS2 apart one time (dreaded disc read error). I don't know why we took it apart. We couldn't fix anything. I guess since it was already screwed, we were just curious. Anyway, we put it back together. We flipped it over and all I hear is a huge crash inside and it felt like the whole inside just dropped. I looked on the table and there was 9 screws we forgot.

Holy f*ck!! That fan is HUGE!!! Its actually pretty amazing that even with a fan like that the PS3 is still quieter than the 360!The reason it's that big makes it quieter than the 360... the fan is bigger, has more blades, so it can spin slower. That alluminium heatsink with the heatpipes has a massive surface area, and the way the air is pulled through it from that huge slow-spinning fan is what makes the whole thing such a quiet efficient cooler. The PS3 is bigger and weighs a lot more as a result, but on the whole i'd rather have a bigger quieter console than a small noisy one. I think i'll wait for the price to drop a lot before buying one though.

And from what I have heard, there is no power brick for the PS3 like the 360... that would make it weigh alot more too.
