I played the demo they have on the market place and knew I was going to buy it the instant that giant insect thing tore open the ground and started chasing after me..mech battle was great too :O

heh - that bit that got me too. A true wtf! moment :)

What I find most exciting is that the demo was from a very early build, yet was still extremely polished and fun to play.

I love the snow worms - it looks like they have massive drool icicles hanging from their mouth.

Nice to see a game I'm looking forward to. :p

I think Lost Planet is suffering a bit from the OMG Gears of War OMG craze.

Looks like they've changed the GUI a tiny bit (So many gradients :() and was there always a radar ? I should probably play the demo again.

To be fair, it has gigantic, screen filling insects. It pretty much strikes a ''DING DING DING! WIN WIN WIN! in my head.

I wonder if theres anything planned for live, in terms of Downloadable content, although I'd love to see how it'd play out if they said there was multiplayer >_> You know what'd be a good mode? Two groups with there own bases, turrets, mechs,etc. and the point of the mode is basically to outlast the others, by either wrecking there base or just defending yours while people went out 2 at a time or something gathering heat from bugs to stay alive >_>

I think the gameplay looks fantastic, but the story looks to have so many japanese cliches that'll be mostly for humor. :D

Are you guys referring to the the E3 demo? If so I thought it was rather bland, I mean it was kinda cool but nothing wow o my god I gotta have it NOW!! Maybe its just me and capcom cause I didnt think Dead Rising was all that great either even tho people on this forum seem to praise it as god.

Played the demo and enjoyed it quite a bit. Love the big insects and mechs. Graphics are nice too. love the snow and blizzards. Explosions are ace too :D

It's one of those classic Capcom "I don't know what the **** is going on or why I have to blow up all these giant insects and robots but omg this is fun" games. I'll probably get it.

it has a great feel to it, kind of a slick and simple feel like Timesplitters series

Played the demo some more last night and my God the snow pirates mission is tough. There's plenty of soldiers, 2 VS, and a huge turret emplacement thing that fires some big ass rockets. Which is why I love getting my hands on that RPG and that energy gun. Feels so good taking out a VS with the machine gun though.

Downloaded the demo the other day out of boredom, didn't really do anything for me. But, of course, it's a work in progress and that was old, and the newer trailers look better.

But, like it was with Gears of War a couple months back, I'm really not seeing what the hype is about for this one ^_^

I played the demo when I first got my 360, it reminded me of Jet Force Gemini for some reason.

Ehhh, I still don't know about, it looks stunning, I guess the demo being such an early build didn't showcase just what the gameplay is going to be capable of.

Yeah, it was the E3 demo so it would have been rushed out just to give people an idea of what to expect. The shooter aspect still looks pretty generic to me, but atleast the enemies look interesting to fight. And the multiplayer looks like it has potential to be pretty fun.

So does anyone know if its all just frozen, snowy environments (and presumably some inside buildings and caves) and such? I usually prefer much more varied environments and it would be great to see that here, but I think the scope of the title kind of limits them a tad....

I think it's all frozen wastes, abandoned cities, ancient ruins etc - a dead world to be rediscovered. It looks like there's plenty of interior sections which are quite varied.

Not that I mind it though, I prefer snowy landscapes over, pretty much, everything else. That's also why I loved "Snowy Mountains" in Jak & Daxter so much! :E
