Recommend me some good rock albums or...

I need to wipe my iPod and add new stuff, cause you know when you start skipping every song on it... that you need new stuff to listen to.

Just listen to the live album And All That Could Have Been, or better yet watch the DVD for it.

NIN is one of those bands where you dont have tracks that sound exactly like another one from the same album. I can clearly identify almost all of their songs (barring remixes) and not mix up the names. Thats over 160 regular songs that are easily identifiable (sp?).

Oh and more importantly, when listening to them, you must listen to the album from start to finish, because all hte songs are connected to eachother, you'll hear what i mean (and see if you look at hte lyrics of the albums songs in order).

Another suggestion to you is to check out Opeth. The best description i could give you is that theyre like a cross-breed between Dream Theater and old school In Flames.

Speaking of which, add those 2 bands to the list too.

Try out Chimaira, theyre like a mix between Fear Factory and Slayer.

Oh and check out Iron Maiden too, amazing live band. If you ever listen to them, listen to them live, check out songs like Hallowed Be Thy Name and Fear Of The Dark.

And lastly, my final suggestion to you is Bon Jovi!! Living on a prayer ftw!

Well, as you like post-rock stuff as Mogwai and the like, and you like some metal in the vein of Tool (some, anyway) and FF, you should try out post-metal. The same concepts of what post-rock mainly revolves around, such as minamalism, repetition, overlapping, etc, but with a more metal tinge to it.

First off, I suggest Red Sparowes. If you like EITS, you will definatly like these. Alot of slow, stretched out music but Red Sparowes make the music seem apocalyptic with distortion and the like. Very landscape stuff, definatly a must. Try the At the Soundless Dawn album. Instrumental, FYI.

For a more heavier sound, check out ISIS. Again, alot of repetation and minamalism, but some really beautiful guitar work put through with gentle strumming and soft guitar solos (alot of bends and stuff put through delay pedals - sounds lovely) If you do like metal, try the Oceanic or Panopticon albums, but if you want a real post-rock feel with much softer vocals try the new album, In The Absence of Truth which is really beautiful stuff. Seriously, it's amazing.

I always thought alot of Mogwai had a real downbeat feel to it, but I really liked it, which is why I love Jesu. Their self-titled is stupidly downbeat and dark. When I listen to it, all I see in my head is fog and rusty, darkened buildings. You know like outta Silent Hill, that kinda shit? Yeah. But anyway, their EP, Silver is much livlier, combinding sweeping, symphonic guitar strummings to some really pounding drum beats. Justin has such a great voice aswell, it really blends in with the style of music. Check it out.

They can take a while to get into, so I do suggest you go for the albums Oceanic and In The Absence of Truth first, then get stuff like Celestial, Panopticon and SGNL>05

The Fake Sound of Progress by Lostprophets (Their only album worth any real mention in my opinion... Start Something has some decent songs though.)

A Black Parade by My Chemical Romance (No, they are not emo, they are goth. I didn't like their other albums, but I thought this one was great)

The Offspring (I love these guys... they are a band btw, not an album)

Our Lady Peace (Some lighter stuff, I know lots of people who love this band)

Albatross by The Classic Crime (Though I have about only 4 songs I like on this album, it still blends lots of elements of rock nicely in my opinion)

OK Computer by Radiohead (A 'depressing' album I suppose, but it blew my mind)

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son,

The Dropkick Murphy's cover of Fortunate Son ranks as on of the most awesome covers I have ever heard.

Lacuna Coil - Comolies (Gothic Rock with an emphisis on melody and harmony.)

Jack Off Jill - Sexless Demons and Scars (One of the only singers in Rock who can do two types of voice.)

Millencolin - Home From Home (One of the only albums which is consistantly good from start to finish.)

My Ruin - Ruined And Recalled (Technically two albums. But their both awesome and theres the best version of Tainted Love ever!)

However, if you want something a little less mainstream I recommend the following....

Genitorturers - http://www.genitorturers.com/home.html - Industrial Rock essentially. Check out the Sin City album as it contains most of the awesome tracks they've released.

Really? Ah, thats still cool, I just much prefer the more calmer stuff, but Oceanic is still one of their best albums.
