Half Life 2 help installing

Hi i just bought Half Life 2 :D so happy
but heres the other side of the story :frown:
I CANT INSTALL the game!!!
I place the cd in the cpu and wait! it sais the noise it usually do when i install something by cd!!!
i wait and nothing happens?
I click on the icon "this computer" and see that the cd-"box" is empty not even a single half life 2 icon :hmph:
and i also tried as described "in the cd case were the cd key is" to left click on the icon and push explore but still nothing happens Pleas i seriously need help ;(

I wanna get started

Are you sure you got the CD version and not the DVD version?

Hint: CD Versions comes in 5 cds, DVD version has a single DVD. That is:

CD = 5 discs
DVD = 1 Disc

Obviously to play the DVD version you will need a DVD player.

Also make sure it's not pirated, that's the reason for about 89% of all problems with HL2.

OMG i feel like sutch a noob ;( ofc. it isent that easy, what did i expect!!!
wahhhh...

ok ill admit everything!

i went to the shop and by accident i bought the HL2 episode one ( beliving that it was the HL2 i wanted to start with) :(
and ofc. i couldent return i now that i had opend the box and broken the sealing!!!
next day i went to the store trying to find the first game and i did ( thou as i have discovered the DvD :( ;( :( )
and here i am with 2 HL2 DvD games and no DvD in my pc !!! ;(

A DVD player is less expensive than the game itself. I recommend getting one. More and more games are on DVD only.

You should be able to get one for like $30.
