Joystick Games?

I just bought a new joystick, and I bought it for an old-old-old-school flight game today, but I figure I might be able to put it to use somewhere else, so what are some games (preferably free) that use the ol' joystick?

BTW, this is the joystick I bought, it's a USB joystick.

Also, is it possible to switch my mouse for the joystick, it'd be cool playing an FPS, and using a joystick to aim (like HL2!).

Shippi, if you've got the same joystick as me, try joystick-to-mouse, it's so fun, it just makes it so you can control the mouse wiht your joystick, but you can still control your mouse with your mouse, or a combination of both?

Playing a game is like: use mouse to navigate through menus, and joystick to play the game. It's really neat.

So far I got it to work with System Shock 2, but it didn't work with UT2K3 DEMO.. I'm trying other stuff.

Does that joystick have rudder control? You'd be able to twist the handle left/right.

I had an old joystick and it played games like Tie Fighter well but with games like Battlefield and such you really need rudder control to fly properly. I went out and bought a better joystick back when BF1942 came out.

No, it just has y/x/z, that's all..

Besides, I don't think it matters with the way I fly, I only use rudders with Helicopters, with planes I do a 1/4 barrel roll (planes top facing sideways), and just pull up, it's just the way I always played with the keyboard/mouse, and I still do it with the joystick... If I REALLY need rudders, I have no problems using the keyboard arrows or A+D keys for rudders, although the joystick that turns like that does sound pretty cool..

Yeah but for the Il-2 games which are sims having a twist-stick(rudder) is incredibly helpful, it'll be a bitch to use the keyboard tbh :p
Atleast that's my opinion, guess everyone have their own ways but I'm a huge Sturmovik fan.:D

Heh I switched the joystick thing on in HL2 and tried to play using my joystick instead of my mouse.. it was pretty fun for a while actually haha

And X-wing is an incredible game.. but I prefer Tie Fighter. I've spent so much time on that bloody game recently.. I love it..

I prefer X-wing over Tie Fighter because I've actually never played tie fighter. I played all the way through all episodes of Xwing eventhrough the B-wing..which might I add, SUCKS. >_<. But yeah, now I want to play them again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Yea, I just tried it, it feels like a console game (Xbox HL2), and I need it to be on easy so it auto aims, it isn't quick enough to do precision aiming like the mouse, still fun, though..
