Hey,

Anyone know what's up?
Thanks

Try verifying the integrity of the game cache.
1. Load Steam
2. From the My Games tab, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game cache files (GCF's) - this process may take several minutes. Do not verify the cache files for multiple games simultaneously - as some games share cache files with other games, this may cause problems with verification.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

I heard about this problem before... not sure why it does that.

Heck, I'd keep the crosshair like that..it's more visible for me ;p

IIRC, that happens if you extract the GUI fonts from the GCF and add them to your Windows fonts.

That would be kind of cool to have HL2 font as your windows font...

Hilarious indeed. I've seen the problem countless times, i thought it was a case of where the extraction misses out the fonts etc file and replaces it with a Q for some odd reason. A validation of your game cache files has cured it in every case i can remember.

Yes. I started giggling when I read the problem, and giggled more at the screenshot.
Sorry, I have no clue how to help.
