View Full Version : So I was thinking (Potential Spoilers for Starcraft)

I decided to play through the Brood War campagin again, and this is where the spoilers come in:

I unlocked a bonus level after finishing a zerg mission called "Dark Origins", I remember doing the same thing many years ago but I didn't pay attention to anything Zeratul etc. were saying.

There was recently a thread about wether or not a Starcraft 2 should be made, and if this bonus level counts towards the initial storyline, Duran is genetically engineering hybrids of both Protoss and Zerg, and I really want to see one! :p

Not to mention the fate of Raynor! He promised to kill Kerrigan, it would be silly to just end the series there when the game is at's high point. Especially since Duran is fathering "The ultimate hybird force".

Thoughts?

Having played through some of it with a friend, I'd like to see a Starcraft 2.

Also to see what happens to South Korea. Will the Protoss invade?

I love Starcraft and it's story. Duran tells he is working for a higher power, one that has been asleep for ages. Could it be the Xel'Naga? A species driven to want to create perfection? Maybe something else we don't know...

Duran fortells that the Hybrids will change there world forever.... it's also forshadowed at the end of the BW Zerg Campaign.

Brood War has such a Cliff Hanger, throw in almost 8 years of waiting to see where the story is gonna go.

My first bet was the Xel'Naga being the race he was talking about, since it just makes sense...oh well, we'll see WHEN They make StarCraft 2.

I'd very much love to see Star Craft 2 (Do it Blizzard, do it now. But dont screw it up.) I cant wait for some kind of resolution on what happens. What of Raynor, Stukov, the experiments, the protoss now settled on shakuras? And the other 10,000 things that have been left unresolved.

I want awnsers! And more than that, I want a damn good game!

Imagine being in blizzard's shoes. Starcraft is one of the most popular games of all time and is still being played fanatically by fans all these years after its been out. How are gonna top that, or even live up to it?

Lets take a look at Blizzards record of bad games on the pc, games that haven't become an absoulte massive hit that haven't broken tons of records and haven't gotton tons of awards.

The point is that, Sc2 doesn't have to be as good as Sc, but as long as it is a absoulely great game like the rest of Blizzard Games...it will sell...incredibly well...and rake in an incredible amount of cash for Blizzard....not that they need it with WoW.

It'd be funny if they linked it into Warcraft III somehow. Like Red Alert and C&C:Tiberium stuff.

Or not.

But seriously. Xel'Naga. What were they thinking? *pictures some sort of snake ogre hybrid*

The Night Elves are distant ancestors to the Xel'Naga. And they're still ****ing everything up.

I would shit myself and cry if they tie it in with War3...since I really didn't enjoy that game too much.

however when blizzard anounces a sc2 the comunity will go crazy

Trolls in space!

In all seriousness, they will never link it to the WarCraft universe. Same with the Diablo universe. Ignoring the fabrics of both games (one being based on mysticism and fantasy, the other sheer sci-fi power and technology), the very feelings they exuberate just wouldn't mesh. Wizards and knights to beer-guzzling space rednecks? No sir, I do not like it.

*Re-reads post*

It's a good thing I quit WoW.

Errr Half-life 2? that was a great sequel...

But I see WC3 was bad compared to Warcraft 2 so I see ya point.

I hope to hell they don't make a Starcraft 2...after Warcraft 3, I think there should be a law against Blizzard making RTS games. Not to mention they went way down hill after most of the founders and core staff left (Metzen and Didier are the only notable members still there), and they'd fill the game with shitty designs and rap music and all that shit that is popular these days.

Or maybe they would make it an MMO, and shit over any crediblity they had left.

That entire post just smells like, "LOL! I h8ed WAR3 So i ttly thnk all h8 it to LAWL! GTFOLOLNUBKTNXBYE!" sort of feel.

I didn't like war3, but it was a pretty good RTS I Thought. It had a solid gameplay factor, and the story was OK..I just didn't like the way it played with the heroes and such...not my thing. You have to admit, they made a nice game.

And why do I SERIOUSLY doubt them putting rap music as a primary listen to thing in StarCraft..they would probably make their own music again, make it spacey and Sci-fi like. I have complete faith in Blizzard to make a sequal to the best RTS ever made...and I'm sure they will keep the standard way high.

The UED are at earth. Infact Earth is what the second letter stands for. Look over Starcraft history to understand how the Terran Factions ended up like they did.

It's still around in shops(The Battlechest, includes Starcraft and Expansion).

The game has an amazing storyline. Each race is completely different from the other while still remaining one of the most balanced RTS's in history. Throw in online is not threw anything gay like Gamespy. Still manages to draw in over 100,000 players online at a time.

The graphics arn't that good(2d, 256 colors), but they do look nice.

The only advise I can give you is. BUY STARCRAFT! The battlechest is only 10 - 20 $. It still hits in the top 10 weekly sales in the USA.
