how should i clean one? I wouldn't go assuming windex is a good idea... any thing i should use thats not potentially harmful to it?

on my laptop, I use a damp cloth to wipe it off (while the power is off and the battery out) and then I dry it with a dry cloth....

lol, yeah. Chemicals on anything other than straight glass is not a good idea.

A wipe-down with a lightly damp cloth should do it.

DO NOT under ANY circumstances use a Swiffer or any other sort of static brush. These will create magnetic disturbances in your monitor*, and will also give you cancer**, AIDS***, amnesia****, and exploding-inner-ear disorder*****.

wouldnt any anti-static cloth or fluid made for cleaning monitors work.

Lets see.....is it really worth it to go and buy a fluid for cleaning monitors or go get a wet rag? Seriously. The end result really wont be a huge difference.

LCDs also have a coating. Don't use anything that would take it off. :O
Could go to the store and see what is in those extremely expensive LCD cleaning bottles. lol

Ive used a slight bit of rubbing alcohol to clean my screens for years and never had one problem. Super clean screen jobs.

I use normal glass cleaner on TFTs, it doesnt harm them.

I just did a google search and most places say to just use water at first.

1. Turn off the computer or display. You may need to turn off the computer in order to turn off some Apple displays.
2. Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only.
3. Wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.


You may also use a mild glass cleaner that contains no alcohol or ammonia."
