dissapointment to me to be fair. found there to be 2 good tracks and they are the current single and read my mind. nothing else stood out like tracks on their first did
just my opinion though...anyone else made a purchase yet?

F*ckin awesome album.
Let it grow on you, I thought it was shite on my first few listens, but when you realise that they went for a different sound with this album, and let the songs grow on you, you`ll love it.

Purchased it today with about 4 other people at lunchtime. It's growing on me, but isn't as immediately listenable to as the first album. I find that with alot of 2nd albums at the moment. As loads of bands are choosing to bring out their second album in 2006.
Kasabian, Zutons, Killers, Jet, Keane, Franz Ferdinand (I know, it was 2005), Razorlight, Scissor Sisters... those off the top of my head.

I hate their new single. I can't stand it. I don't know if I want to hear their new album...

I heard the new single was bad, so I'm not really keen on listening to the new single (though I kinda liked the first album).

So you`d rather listen to someone elses opinion rather than trying it for yourself?

I'm really curious about Sam's Town, since their first one had some great songs.
The first single worries me though... sounds like they're trying too hard. A little too epic for its own good.

thats exactly how the album feels. it feels like a sing along or something

I get the feeling that Brandon is trying too hard to come off as a better singer. On the first album, he'd hit and hold the notes, and while nothing special, it got the job done in style. And now he seems to be trying to hit more notes faster than he can handle, and it comes off as really warbly and amateur-ish.

The opinions of others may influence my decision, but that doesn't mean I will change my decision because of another's opinion.

I agree with the Kasabian one but tbh, aren't all albums the same?
I really like what I've heard of it so far. It took me a few listening throughs to appriciate Hot Fuss and I feel this will be similar.

I now officially prefer it to Hot Fuss. It all sounds very Kasabian. And they are one of my fave bands. So yay! :D

Got this album a few days ago, and i'm really into it now, i think it's very good. Uncle Jonny, This river is wild and Why do i keep counting are a few of my favourite songs (as well as the single) - Not sure if it'll reach the popularity of Hot Fuss, Mr Brightside is such a huge song. Kasabian comparisons can't be bad, i mean the new Empires album is fantastic too!
I first heard some songs that a friend had me listen to....he said it was the killers new album...was horrible..
Thankfully he ****ed up and it wasn't The Killers at all. I really like there new album.

ironic that you say that because last night a local TV station aired a special on The Killers and the lead singer did say something about wanting an album and im paraphrasing now "that fans can singalong to"
so um...i suppose they accomplished what they set out to do.
