Hey guys. im on a cable connection with a usual speed of 600 KB down and 40 KB up. i share this internet connection with my brother. When either one of us begins a download, all the upload bandwidth is sucked by that user. how can i split the upload rate evenly between our comps. allocated 20 to my bro and 20 to myself. :thumbs:

only 40kb upload??? that doesnt sound right if your downloading at 600kbs it should be well around 80kbs

Sounds about what I have. That's Kbytes he is talking about.
Does your router have an option to limit speed at all? Not sure if it would.

I had that problem with my brother as well. One of us would try to play a game and complain to the other one because they allowed uploads on whatever program they were using.
My connection is 5Mb (640KB/s) Down / 256Kb (32KB/sec) Up

Maybe try installing a program on both PCs like this one. (http://www.homeqos.com/)
