I've tried googling the lyrics and Faith No More/Counting Crows came up a few times but I can't find lyrics that match.

Don't know but it sounds awfully a lot like the Stone Temple Pilots. It's definitely not Faith No More.

which 80's song?

I dont even remember how it goes... I heard it at a public place one time and said hey I like that song. If I hear it again, I would instantly recognize it. Im not sure if it was a one hit wonder or what... Well hopefully the 80s stations will help me.
