it looks like the painting (and it is a painting: you can see staples in the frame holding the canvas) fell on top of the baby :O

where from?
i mean the entire color of the baby, it seems the baby bled furiously, then wiped clean with no water, so left over blood stains or something

ok, so the title is "enjoying Rothko", so the baby is looking at his painting
massage:
i think infants are the only ones who enjoy Rothko painting the way it was intended to be viewed and perceived
sorry about the blood look

i still think its fantastic paintingYeah, but he didn't get the perspective right, the painting canvas (in the painting) seems too flat, like it's just lying next to the baby, flat. The baby seems to be looking into space now :p

True, unless the baby is hovering in mid air it looks like he is laying on the ground next to a painting flat on it's front.
this makes me laugh the baby is too red, not baby like colors and the composition of the whole peice isnt really aesthetic it makes my brain hurt too look at it honestly
other than that I really love the way you handled the the blues of the sheet it shows that you can grow a grasp on a brushwork but it also seems rushed look at the baby hands
just an honest crit so dont take it hard, use it and get better work on that brush work man!!! you have the potential inside of you now go paint some more

sorry the photo isn't the best
getting better but may i suggest goto an art store/library get a book on mixing oils colors you have wayyy too much orange thing going on in the first date peice
what works for me is just getting 3 colors and white
like red blue yellow + white
to get skin tones add yellow + white a little tab of red
but right now the baby's head looks like a big juicy ripe orange, however you handled the highlight on the nose very well
also try to fit in the environment like i think this baby would be better around something luminuous like an open fire because thats what the orange is telling me but you handle the head pretty well although there is no neck and ears.
