I really don't know much about digital art, or where to find people who do it.

Basicly, I want a business logo doing, which will be a cartoon character, bright colours and so on, what I have in mind is the Flash look - not animation but the look of flash drawings. Bold edges and bright smooth colours.

If someone could help me out in finding a person who could maybe provide a little of their time to produce what I'm after, I would really appreciate it. Even if someone could help me out here on the forums, it would be great - I'm no good at anything that involves drawing and havn't a clue where to start looking.

Go to their community forums. Deviant art has a lot of digital artists. 3dBuzz.com has a lot of talented people willing to help out. CGTalk.com and CGsociety.com have a lot of professionals who gather at their forums. Those last 3 are mostly focused on 3d art, but many of them also do 2d digital art.

If it's static you'll need Illustrator or CorelDraw. Or some other vector based program. Illustrator even has this nifty tool wich creates a vectorbased drawing upon a simple scanned drawing for those clean edges. I'll bet there's also some good freeware around. Find out more at the sites Krynn mentioned.
Good luck ;) You' re in for some nighters...
