And then on the PC there will be a pack that's just Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2, and we're still working out the pricing for that but it'll probably be somewhere in between Episode One [pricing] and full price.

It was what we expected..

I will gladly pay more for Episode 2! :D If it was still $20 I would be like no-****ing-way!

Hmm. I can already see posts from people who only want to play Episode 2 and not care for TF2 or Portal and pay $30-$40 for 5 hours of gameplay. It's a legitimate complaint too.
Its interesting to see Valve go from Episodic content release to Bundled Content release in just 2 episodes.
Regardless, I can't wait for EP2!

Episode 2 probably has more powerful content in it as well, however :P
I'm happy to pay extra for Episode 2. My money is going to VALVe, and I'm getting three freakin' awesome games out of it! :)

I'd pay that much for just Episode Two, let alone TF2 + Portal!

How's about your soul?
Anyway, the price increase seems reasonable. We are getting Portal and TF2 (well... I hope we're getting TF2, but then it's been a running gag almost as long as DNF.)

I'd pay my soul for both EP2 and EP3.

Chances are, Episode Two WILL actually cost exactly the same as Episode One. The thing is, people basically consider TF2 and Portal as inseperable from the Episode Two package. If people really only want Episode Two (in which case, they're insane or on dial-up :P), they will doubtless be able to buy it for $19.99 on Steam.
The real question is how much.
If it's 25 dollars, there's no competition and I will buy it in an instant.
If it's 35 dollars, I may think what I'm getting for it and then buy it.
If it's 45 dollars, I may think twice what I'm getting and buy it within the first week of its release.
If it's 60 dollars, I'll skip.
I hope it's going to be only 25-35 dollars. Then again if Portal is going to be totally awesome, I could pay another 25 bucks just to get it on top of HL2:Ep2.

It will be less than then price of a full game, or so the eurogamer interview seems to indicate. How much less is another matter...

Hoping it's around $25-$30+.
Or best yet, $19.95. Parents do seem to hate games, yes.

I may have a tough time convincing my parents though :strokes imaginary beard:

Mmmh I will be very disappointed if the game will be shipped at 30 or 40 $...
Especially if it will be as long as episode one, considered that if tf2 and portal are free is very cool, but if they charge you more for them - no thanks, I'm only interested in episode 2.
The saddest thing is that I will probably end up buying it anyway :( .
But if the third episode will feature extended gunship fights and antlions in closed space valve will definitely lose a fan.

You could always shop around. When Valve had Episode 1 on sale for $17.95 ($2 off) if you bought it before launch so I went ahead and bought it. However when it did come out Frys had it on sale for $12.95. I bet you will find it cheaper when it first comes out other places than Steam.

Episode Two will be a little bit longer than Episode One was.

Episode Two will be a little bit longer than Episode One was.
Are you sure?
The last interview I checked (I think it was lombardi....) didn't confirm this

What? I thought he confirmed it.
EDIT: Aha:-
Eurogamer: In terms of gameplay length, what are we looking at for Episode Two?
Doug Lombardi: For Episode Two the initial idea was that it was going to be the same size as Episode One but it's sort of meandering to be slightly longer. I don't think that it's going to end up being as big as Half-Life 2 but I think probably it'll end up being a little bit longer than Episode One was.

Yes, he said "a little bit"... that doesn't convince me much :o
