View Full Version : Bioware potentially developing for DS

Vooks.net is reporting that Bioware has sent out a special survey to the members of its community asking specifically about the Nintendo DS and people's interest in seeing its games on the platform. Here are two of the questions asked:

# "Would you buy a handheld system specifically to play an RPG based on Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic or Neverwinter Nights?"

# "Would you buy a handheld RPG based on classic BioWare series such as Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: KOTOR or Neverwinter Nights?"


Assuming there is enough positive feedback, then it seems that us DS fans may well be getting a slice of this highly popular PC / XBOX action.

With any luck we will hear more details soon.

Soooooo tempting... must resist getting a DS, promised myself I wouldn't make any more big games purchases until the Wii :(

Wow. I would answer yes to all of that! Just imagining playing BG or even Torment on my DS gives me tiny little shivers all over!!

Couldn't care less. The DS for me is about the crazy games like Brain Age, Nintendogs, Electroplankton, Phoenix Wright and Trauma Centre.

I'm not saying it's not a good thing, I just don't care about mainstream games on the DS. It's not what it's for.

A good game is a good game, you won't find me complaining about it. The news that Bioware is developing for the DS does nothing for me though. They do great RPG's but I don't look to my DS for RPG's, I seekout the leftfield games like the ones above.

The games you mentioned are hardly left field or "crazy" as you put it yourself. These games are the reasons the DS is doing so well, hence making them mainstream.
