i have Visual Studeo 2005 Pro will that work with the build?:smoking:

i hope it dose cause that cost me allot of money lol :cat:

but i do also have Visual Studeo.net (not sure wat vertion!):borg:

yea.. both of them have C++. and VS05 has Visual Basic as well... which wud be the best to use?

Valve said 2003 version...which is a load of bull shit they give us no free options like dev-c++ or VS2005 Express Edition

No. Express version "kind of compiles". The Express version is completely free. Your version should be able to "kind of compile" it just as well.

However Valve is working with Microsoft for a SDK that works with the express version.

I have both VS2003 and VS2005 on my PC, and I recommend everyone keeps VS2003 on their system since a lot of SDK's haven't provided with 2005 soloution files yet. Just to rub it in I got legal versions of VS2003 and VS2005 free through my Uni. God bless free software.

i downloaded the free vertion of the VS2003 C++ but the gay thing wouldnt start!! :@ relly stupid...

The Source SDK will compile straight after you install it with VS2003, but anything else, you're going to struggle to get it to build. Depends how much you want to be frustrated / fiddle with it.
