I wonder, are there any other games that allows you to smoke bongs etc or get drunk? I remember you could get very drunk in Fable but any other games?:p
I wish they'd make a more personal-level Sim game that allows you to smoke pot and take heroin injections lol..

Yup, the new Narc remake. Loads of drugs and effects. Very controversial.

In short, it sucked. The original was absolutely killer.

EDIT: Holy crap those are funny vids. This is quite simply a graphically updated GTA of course, but it will kill A LOT of time while everyone waits for IV to release next year. The beer drinking effects alone are enough to land these guys in water close to the same temp as the GTA boys. Talk about encouraging drinking! I wonder how many underage folks will try to mimic the effects of the virtual beer muscles IRL? It would have been really great if they included the effects of Beer Goggles as well, making all of the ugly women in the game look really sexy after you down a few!

in Boiling Point you could drink booze ..it made driving a car difficult (even more so considering the amount of bugs in the game) ...as it should

So what if they're both sandbox-style crime games in a city? Is Call of Duty a bad game because there were other WW2-based first-person shooters before it? Is Enemy Territory a bad game because it's not the only multiplayer game to use capture points and classes? Is Half-Life 2 "just another shooter with aliens"?

If the game is good, it's good. There's room for more than one game in each genre, you know :dozey:

Almost definitely going to pick this game up. Any news on when the demo comes out on XBL?

That is actually quite true. Look at the side-scrolling brawlers/shooters of our youth, for instance: Was Code Name: Viper any less of a game because Rolling Thunder, Shinobi, and others had extremely similar gameplay? No. Is Final Fight a clone of Golden Axe, etc? Yes, but it still rips! Clones can be great too if at least as well done as the original.

While this is obviously a clone of GTA, it certainly doesn't mean it won't be fun. It WILL be fun, especially while waiting for the next (and presumably once-again groundbreaking) GTA title to drop.

(Of course, if you are bored of GTA-style gameplay, this looks to bring absolutely nothing new to the table....)

Clones are only bad when they fail to innovate or atleast improve over the original, or when they copy certain things to the point of plagiarism. Immitation is a form of flattery, after all.

Oh, and also when "clone" becomes "bandwagon" (see WWII shooters).

Every newsstand gets their magazines for the week on Mondays, so I won't be able to buy the magazine with the demo until the day I can download it on XBL. And it's killing me >:|
