Source SDK don't start, or better closes after start without a error message

Hallo,

I recently bought HL2 and Updated all HL2, HL2 Deathmatch, HL2: Lost Coast, Counterstrike: Source and downloaded the Source SDK. I just want to try out the Source SDK to see how difficult making a MOD is.

But when I start the Source SDK, I see in the taskmanager the process and a few seconds laster ist is gone without any error message.

The Game HL2 runs without problems.

My System:
Acer Aspire 1500 Series
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1,8Ghz
512 MB ram
ATI Radeon 9200

Win XP 64Bit

try verifying the cache for the sdk

Hallo,

I did it. It verified the SDK, but nothing happens. It seems if no error message pops up, it means it is OK.

Now I tried again to start the SDK but I got the same problem. No application start and no error message. :(

try to delete the following files from your Steam directory.

C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.dll
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamUI.dll
C:\Program Files\Steam\ClientRegistry.Blob
