Unreal Tournament

Hehe, I just started playing the old Unreal Tournament again, used to play alot few years back. Luckily there are still lots of active players, most of them are really good too :D
Does anyone from here still play it or any other Unreal game?

I just love the sound of a monster kill, there is nothing better than those voices in Unreal Tournament games.

lol you got that right. Don't even think of trying to compete with those players if you're rusty on your skills. I tried a little Domination the other day and was just raped by people who knew how to abuse the maps and weapons in every way. I still don't know how to fly across the map using the Teleporter thing. I see guys just go from one end of a map to the other in seconds. :angry:

I still play UT2004 a fair bit. Mostly the occasional Assault Match.

The game is no longer noob friendly.

I played it against a guy (who claimed to be the Tekken champion of Cork though that has little to do with anything) with 2 of my friends. We ended up playing 2 last man standings, they were really close and loads of fun. he won one, I one won (though he won by more lives in his D: )

I play the old UT frequently and quite frankly I like it better then the other newer versions. I don't dare compete with those inhuman bastards on the game servers I just stick to a good old fashion bot DM mayhem.

Hah, I remember playing on a server with the Strangelove mutator...
Basically you spawned with a redeemer, and when you launched it, you'd be riding the redeemer... you could control it too.
The map was actually a big obstacle course that you navigated through while on a missile.

Damn, that was the shit.

I hated that. Too many weapons, made everything awkward. Plus I accidentally kamikaze a few times :o

I played co-op a few months ago, several servers that were up. So it's still going.

I used to be good at UT but not anymore, I aim like a 60 year old squinting man. I never played online so much either, but those time I did I did well.
I still have it installed and made some maps, mainly for testing.
Oh, and yeah, you guys should try out Operation Na Pali (http://www.unrealsp.org/community/reviews/onp.html), a singleplayer mod for UT that got released 2002.
