HL2EP1 is very dark even when I set the gamma to max in game. I wonder if I can somehow change gamma in a cfg or ini file. I have a scandinavian keybord and I can't figure out a way to enable console either..

amd athlon 1,3ghz geforce fx 5200 and 512 meg ddr ram newest drivers etc..
When I set the shaders to high, half of the "anomalies" dissapears and changes to normal textures. I played hl2 on medium settings and never got this thing.

The specifications seem correct to me. Hopefully someone else will be around to verify.

What did you do to "fix" your gamma problem? I hope you didn't mess around with your .CFG or .INI files like you were planning.

Unfortunately I don't have experience with the Nvidia cards (I'm an ATI man :P).

The only other thing I can offer is that you change your settings back to the way they were before, and just adjust your monitor settings to increase the brightness.

Hmm, not sure if that's helpful at all though.

You also might want to verify the GCF cache.

Right click Episode One (In Games tab) > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity etc

And for it being dark, I hope you're not talking about the levels that require the flashlight :-\

For some reason, the flashlight in my game doesn't work. How do i change the gamma ingame?

If the flashlight doesn't work, check to make sure it is bound to a key. Default, its "F".
