Cannot purchase HL2 Ep1

I have looked through the forums and i cannot find anything that works!

When i click on purchase i'am greeted with a typical website error page.

I have tried using the run command as one thread said.

Click on run then "D:\Half-Life 2\steam.exe steam://purchase/79"

But still no joy.
Any info out there. I assumed there would have been some sort of fix by now so i waited patiently!

I had this same problem when trying to pre-order, what worked for me was to just download the Steam client from steampowered.com and re-install it, it won't hurt your games or anything.

If you are truly desperate, you can go out and buy the box. Go to the steam forums and try posting there to see if they can solve your problem.

all is well - i re-downloaded steam and it is now downloading episode 1.
