I still get barrels and crates dissapearing if I step back too far away from them and I am looking to remedy this.
I have directx 9.0C if that helps any. Drivers are up to date.

I don't really have any screen shots off hand but in certain environment I will see something like a group of barrels which will remain visible on my screen for quite some distance, but eventually fade away and become non visible until I come within a certain range of the object again.
My understanding is that this issue has something to do with the draw distance but I don't really know how to alter it since it is not in the option menu of HL2.

Kappa - I was hoping the same thing would not happen after I got my X1900XT. Those disappearing objects are built into the map. There *might* be a command to stop it doing this, but I am not aware of it. It'll happen whether you have a 9500 or X1900XTX. :(

Well to have some sort of limited draw is good for performances, since this will take and reside more v-ram and occupy unnecessary space. The same reason, decals and corpses to disappear.
Hope that helped.
Good Luck.

HulkTry typing in the console:
find WORD
It will now search and display any commands or decriptions containing WORD (not capital-sensitive). So try searching for the words "max", "draw", "distance", and "view". Don't add the apostrophes.
