well, i got some nasty adwares, that does not want to get disabled, so it locked me off from shutting down processes from control alt delete menu. It says access has been denied. What can i do? i tried running many anti virus, and anti adware programs, with little to no success.

Man I have some too that just won't go away...
If you haven't already, try searching google for the name of the process(es) for info. Going into safe mode and running your anti spyware progs will help...but for the stuff I have now I think a formatting of the ol' hard drive is neccessary :(

Try Spybot S&D here http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-2
Best spy-ware remover.
If it can't remove spy-ware, then it will have you reboot system and remove spy-ware before spy-ware system-hooks.

Good Luck. I hate Formatting.

I've been using this for a couple months. It's free for personal use.

With the ability to scan your RAM, Registry, hard drives, and external storage devices for known data-mining, advertising, and tracking components, Ad-Aware SE easily can clean your system, allowing you to maintain a higher degree of privacy while you surf the Web.

EDIT: I like that spyscan search and destroy software BarneyFife, it found a bunch of older stuff like WildTangent - software that I uninstalled over a year ago. It also found some stuff from Ad companies that I don't recognize

If you know the name of the virus/problem, try downloading the single fix at http://www.nod32.com.

Ad-ware SE is the best i have used. S&D picks up the things Adware couldn't

spybot is the best in my opinion, its free and good too. You may also want to check out AVG. it's an antivirus program that used to be free, and gets rid of around 140 viruses that Norton misses. Man, my computer worked really well after using them both.

That program is really, no I mean REALLY, annoying for games. It has this stupid daily autoupdate, which brings your pc to its knees for about 30 seconds. Even if you disable the program, it still tries to update. After some updates it creates a popup with the changelog and offers and whatnot. If you're playing a game when it pops up, windows automatically focuses on the popup, minimizing your game. I even had one situation in which it had an update, but it needed a reboot to work. It counts down from ten for you to shut down your apps, but you only see it flicker every second while you're gaming. And then it just reboots... I ended up removing the annoying hunk of bytes from my pc. Thank god.
I'm sure it catches alot of viruses, but it's an annoying program. Also, it detects every .rar file with an executable in it as a virus (thank god it doesn't automatically delete it). Oh and it scans incoming and outgoing data from games, which gives a hickup every few seconds. Ergh.

no idea, in other news, I have tried running with my internet off in safe mode, and ran both virus programs, restarted again in safe mode, and did it all over again. deleted suspeciuous files, that did not exist before, and whatnot. Still, the adwares exist on my computer.
