Im realy considering to buy this game. The graphics looks great and i like big games. I have a friend who got it but i cant realy say i trust his tast in games.
So this is the 4th in the series? I dont have to buy the other 3 to get the plot now do I?
So, should i buy this game? Or something else?

Edit: Oh and btw, if you where to compare it to some other game, wich whoucld it be?

You don't need to of played or know bugger all to play Oblivion. It is a completly new story and everything about previous game can be read in books you buy/steal in game, if you really want to know.

A must buy.

I really did not like it at all in the begining but after I got past the 1rst gate things where getting cool.
Also I will make a thread about this later but here are some cheat codes for oblivion if you happen to need extra money or need to kill somthing hard:

Why not just play it without cheats? It'll be more rewarding!

That's the first thing he does - download a list of every cheat and walk around in God mode just exploring and screwing around. He does this for every single game and never plays without cheat codes. lol

I hardly ever cheat because I feel like that defeats the point of even playing a game. To me it's like paying someone to level up your character. LMFAO thats ridiculous! Whatever makes you happy... :)

Nope.

THIS GAME!!!

Edit: Oh and btw, if you where to compare it to some other game, wich whoucld it be?

I would compare it very favorably to a first-person Baldur's Gate with a bigger and more beautifully rendered world, full of more locations and more involved quests and more actual role-playing. This is the quintessential CRPG right now imho.

Buy it, rent it, borrow it, steal it - just get the game and play it!

Good thing there are just as many ways to play the game as there are to acquire it. :naughty:
I think I'll try a thief type character for once. Normally in RPGs I play fighters, and sometimes casters.

And if you want to gain 100 Sneak points really quickly while you do something else like go to work or school...
[***possible spoiler hint***]
just go to a town or cave with a guard or enemy near you and autowalk(Q by default) in a corner for hours and your sneak will go up and up and up! Of course, the downside is that for each level you gain, you'll only get extra points for one of your attributes, but if you are going to be sneaking everywhere, who cares?! :)

Thats an old trick from Morrowind as well.
But there no point in wasting hours like that when you can just do a console command give yourself 100 sneak.

It kinda ruins the feel of the game anyway.

Sneak is one of the fastest skills in the game you can build, so why bother cheating?

buy it, or it will buy you!

indeed that makes no sense :O but seriously, its worth the 50bucks (or whatever you have to pay, pc version of course). If i wouldnt get it for free anyway, i would buy it - even if im more fan of the gothic series is oblivion somehow a great game after a long long time of bad and medium quality games.

Does that mean jumping absolutely everywhere is cheating? :(

I played morrowind (the one before Oblivion) for months. What caused me to stop was I cheated and made a powerful item for my character. 3 days later I had absolutely no interest in the game at all.

Well point taken, no cheats. ;)
