I know you can do it with soul gems but is there a person who does it as a service and if so, where?

What's the difference between charges and uses? For example if I have a weapon that has:
Charge: 1000/1600 Uses: 16
The charge is increased using soul gems, correct? Can you increase the number of uses somehow?

I think it works like this; depending how powerful the attack is (say 10pt fire damage) it could cost 200 charge a strike. So if you had a max of 1600 charge, it would have 8 uses. If the attack was 5pt fire damage, it would use 100 charge a strike, so it would be 16 uses.
If you get what I mean. Yes soul gems recharge it.

Ahhh, that makes sense. So basically the "uses" number is just doing the math for you to tell you how many shots can be fired with the remaining charge. Thanks Mutley.

You're describing the intial enchantment - can you use soul gems to recharge an item that's already enchatned was the question.
There are actually some stones (worth $1000) which evidently recharge items somehow, but I haven't tried it yet.

You can take empty soul gems and use a trap soul spell, kill the creature in question including one you might summon, and the soul is trapped in the previously empty soul gem. By clicking on a full soul gem you can then select a magical weapon to increase the charge of.
I'm a little fuzzy understanding which souls are which size and how much you can fit in a soul gem of a given size.

Im pretty sure mages guild will charge them even if you aren't in the guild. If not somone else does as I had to charge one of my warriors weapons and he wasn't in the mages guild. It is really expensive though if your short on cash.

I don't think you need to be in the guild to buy spells, only if you want to be trained (I'm in all three major guilds, as I have not seen any negatives from joining all three, only good positives. I however, only do quests for the majes guild right now, I'll get to the other two in due time).

All three? Which one haven't you joined?
I just got Azura's Star ***SPOLIER***(a re-usable soul gem)***SPOLIER*** and I am loving it!! I just wish I knew what souls would charge it with "greater" or something other than "lesser." A troll I killed was lesser and that seems strange to me, but maybe a minotaur or ogre would be greater...its worth a shot!
Is there a place to buy Soul Gems or do I have to steal / find them?

Cost me 1700g to charge my sword and 800g to charge my bow... :|
