Release date confusion over Half-Life 2: Episode 1. Valve says May 31 and EA says June 30.

Recent reports from Game Informer quoting Doug Lombardi of Valve had confirmed that Half-Life 2: Episode 1 had slipped from its April 24 release to May 31. After speaking with an EA representative, we have since learned that Episode 1 is now scheduled for release on June 30, with the May 31 release date seemingly already out of date.

Someone please e-mail Doug. Why do they still give out release dates when the know they will not make it? Anyways I hope its because of the bugs. The less bugs the better.

EA isn't making the game. VALVe is. For all we know, EA could be using an old date VALVe had given them.

Valve are releasing it on steam May 31, EA is releasing it retail on June 30.

Cuz Valve can release it almost immediatly after there done with bug testing and such, while EA has to mass produce copies before hand and ship them.

A head examination? Valve are hardly dishonest, they miss these deadlines not through broken promises (that quite probably neve existed in the first palce) but through improving their product for the likes of you.
