Why do people always believe these shots to be engine-ingame shots, do they never learn their lessons from the previous times stunts like this have been pulled?

Plus, you can clearly see four model vertices along the helmet of the guy in the forefront.

QFT. Parralax mapping, normalmapping and bumpmapping are the ones that make this look totally awesome.

Yikes! What kind of beast of a system is gonna get that sort of quality up and running at a good fps??? Looks great, but I am not a huge fan of the idiotic gameplay of the BiA series. Still, worth keeping an eye on--hopefully they revamp it a bit....
Looks fantastic.
I guess I'm one of those few people who actually liked BiA. But then again, I didn't really have such high expectations on it either.

Gawd dam, the Brothers In Arms series was a load of PISH!
You know the most annoying thing about it though... the difference between the XCrate version and the PC.
On the forums for the PC version all you hear is "omg, it's so f'ing BS, aiming is like punching a brick wall with your face". THEN the xbox version folk come into the PC version forums and are like "What the hell are you on about? it's so easy".
You know what though? If you acctualy play the xbox version - aiming is totaly different. Think about it, could you possibly imagine trying to compensate with the sway of the PC's iron sights with an Xbox controller?.... No you can't, and you don't have too - the iron sights on the xbox are pretty much stationary!
Still a crap game with loads of flaws outwith the iron sights issuse but it still grinds my gears ;)

May I remind everyone of the earliest BiA screens?

AH_Viper rolls over and dies from laughter at how much he himself was convinced BIA was going to be a good game from its original shots :)

It looked like those first shots when I played it. I had it on high settings and it looked great to me, just like those shots. I think the screens were taken on different settings.
But I still didnt really like the game. Gameplay was fairly annoying, even though i did end up beating it :P

Krynn, what's your system? I have a Geforce 6800, ran everything all high, and looked like the last 2 shots I posted.

Fight Night certainly looks as good graphically, so maybe.....

well yea, those screens you have there are at a low res with all the candy turned off....when i play it runs that nice looking on my comp.
The reason the older Brothers in Arms screenshots looked better than the final problem was, aside from the excessive bloom, that the game was being developed with the PC in mind. Then they decided to turn it into a console-oriented game and toned down the graphics as a result.
I have every reason to believe this is an in-game shot. It looks like Unreal Engine 3, and the level of detail in the character's face is great, but not really that far past Half-Life 2. We all know those Gearbox guys want to create an authentic experience, so they'll be focusing on character models especially.
