Half Life 2 Needs To Close

Hi, I'm in the middle of "Our Benefactors", and HL2 keeps closing. It says "HL2 experienced an error. HL2 needs to close". How do I get rid of this error? What's the problem? Thanks !!

Try validating : steam://validate/220

I've heard of this error before, I'll see if I can find a fix for it.

If you have a 64-bit processor, try putting the parameter "-32bit" behind your game shortcut.

Okay, I tried adding 32bit, and the game loaded and all, but my saved games are gone. Once I got rid of the 32bit in load options and loaded HL2, my games were back, but it was running in 64bit mode. Maybe I can put it in 32bit mode and go to the level I was at with console codes. Or, do you have an idea where I can access my saved games in 32bit mode??

edit: I did the 32bit thing, added -console, and beat the game, no problems! I'm going to keep it that way. and I might need to make everything else 32bit as well. We shall see, thanks beerdude!! I'm on to Garry's Mod and Lost Coast. BTW, how is Lost Coast?

Lost Coast is actually a tech demo. You can activate Commentary by Gabe Newell (The owner of Valve Software) in the options.
It's about 15 minutes, but the commentary is very nice.
Oh and Garry's Mod is quite evil tbh :p

Yah, I just played Lost Coast with and w/o commentary. It's nice, but I think I missed bubble 10 and 4. I spent 5 mins searching for four-never found it! Oh well. It would be awesome if they made all their games like they did in LC. It's stunning and graphically awesome. I can't wait for Half-Life 3. It's on my list already. Ummm, do you not like Garry's mod?

No, I don't like it. I'm not going to bore you with the rather shady stuff Garry did to make his mod more popular, though.
