I swear man..if Dreamcast made a comeback and supported High Definition, it would kick the XBOX 360's Ass. I mean, right now, I'm watching Dead or alive 4 on my non-HDTV, and it looks exactly like a Dreamcast game. If the Dreamcast had HD, it would still be around. Man I loved that system.

Yeah, Cannon Spike was one of the coolest games ever! I miss it too--why wasn't there more support for it?! Ugh, its pretty frustrating, but I bet if it were still around, it would be giving even the PS2 a run for its money! (Not that its even worth talking about since it was dead before it really started ;(.)

Yeah, games for the Dreamcast still get released every now and then in Japan.
The Dreamcast rocks. Easily one of my favourite consoles. Shenmue was an awesome game, still waiting for the third one though :(
Sonic adventure blew me away, I loved that game so much. And CRAAAAZY TAXI was so much fun. I racked up so many hours on that game. And Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind Radio) was so orginal and the music ROCKED! Power Stone was an awesome fighter too. So many good games... shame it died :(
Dreamcast ftw!

I played powerstone and that Singeplayer/MMORPG (the one that got ported to gamecube) to it's death at my mate's house. Pure brilliance that was the Dreamcast

The games dont have high enough res textures to look any different in HD. And in order to play a game with those higher res textures you'd beed a more powerfull system...

that was a truly next-gen console, way ahead of its time, I remember endless nights playing chu-chu rocket online against people in Japan, hehe crazy...

The dreamcast rules, except the fact it's the WORST console ever. It works maybe 75% of the time. They die constantly. That and the controler is horrible for your hands. bad layout IMHO.
But I still do love the Dreamcast to death, and own 3 of them...only of which 2 work.

Still works as well as the day I bought it (9/9/99! Never forget!). And personally I loved the controller. It's probably my second-favorite controller, after the 360's. That being said I didn't use the thing all too often...my arcade stick got the most use.

I've never had or seen a Dreamcast that bad. Mine died once, kept resetting itself. Easy to fix though, just take it apart and clean some pins and voila. A perfectly working Dreamcast.
I found the controller to be very comfortable too. And the VMU (visual memory unit) was awesome, an awesome idea. Shame the batteries died so often.
I doubt Sega will ever be able to come back though. They always had the better technology. The Game Gear was in colour way before the GameBoy came out in colour. The Dreamcast was the first console to go online. It was just killed by the PS2 hype. Damn Sony.

I've still got mine, and it runs fine considering all the use it saw. I still break out Crazy Taxi now and again. (Hell I have a crazy taxi shirt).

The Console's sales wasn't good, despite the solid first party titles (from Sega), 3th party developers weren't supporting the console mostly because the playstaion 2 was about to launch, so the majority of developers were focused on get ready their games for PS2´s launch, also it was Sega's second console (Saturn was the first) in a row that didn't do well (sales wise), so Sega panicked and after a lot of rumors and gossips going around they made it official, They pulled the plug to Dreamcast and went "Platform Agnostic", the rest is history, now you can play Sonic in a Nintendo console, a thing that 10 years ago I thought it would be impossible...

Dreamcast was utterly awesome. Bad controller?? No way, it was one of the best of the next-gen consoles, and the VMU thing was truly innovative. I don't think it was a particularly unreliable console either, compared to all the overheating, dropped lenses etc of the PS2. I had a PS2 that I had to stick in the fridge to get it working for any length of time.
It truly was a shame that a console that could really go toe to toe with the PS2 in terms of power, and one with some great games too, died out so early while the PS2 carries on to this day. Sega's incompetence could sink anything, I guess. I'm still tempted to pick one up on the cheap with a bunch of 2nd hand games.

I have a Tennis game on the Dreamcast which is the EXACT same Tennis game they keep selling every year under different names and consoles.. If you've ever played a tennis game, I'm sure you know the one I mean.... funny when you realize it came out 8 years ago and they still sell it every year, barely updated...

http://www.xbox360news.com/Blogs/News/hqs/blr_1790.aspxRumor 4: There will be over 50 Sega Dreamcast games on the Xbox Live Arcade within 2 years, launched a handful at a time. Every Dreamcast game released on 360 will be priced at around 10 dollars.Well, I already have a Dreamcast... but for the 360 owners (not me) who don't, that would be a welcome surprise.
