Counter-Strike: Source FAQ
Below are frequently asked questions and their answers for Counter-Strike.

If you cant find the answer to your question. Ask us here!
  1. What changes are made in Counter-Strike: Source?

Valve has completely re-vamped the graphics of Counter-Strike for this port. There are brand new weapon models and skins, brand new player models all optimised for the physics system to show off the rag-doll physics, a brand new particle system, realistic water, lighting, shadow and shader effects all welded together with the tried and tested game play of the original.

  2. Why Counter-Strike: Source and not Counter-Strike: 2?

It's just simply because it's a port to the Source engine. They haven't changed any of the game play at all, so it isn't really worthy of being a sequel i.e. Counter-Strike 2.

  3. Will Counter-Strike 2 be on the Source engine?

It isn't yet known if there will be a Counter-Strike 2. If there is a Counter-Strike 2 it's more than likely going to be on the Source engine.

  4. What are the system specs for Counter-Strike: Source?

They are exactly the same as Half-Life 2 with the exception that for multiplayer games the extra minimum requirements are a narrowband (dial-up) connection with the recommended connection being broadband.

  5. Are there any vehicles in Counter-Strike: Source?

At this time there are no vehicles included with Counter-Strike: Source but they are supported with the engine. It is thought that in the future there may be maps that integrate vehicles into the gameplay.

  6. Are there any new weapons in Counter-Strike: Source?

At this time, there are no plans for any new weapons, but this may be saved for future versions of the game or Counter-Strike: 2 (if there is one).
