New Team Fortress 2 Update Released
Posted @ 7:19 PM, August 17 2009, By: DigiQ8 In Day of Defeat, Team Fortress 2

A new required updates for Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source have been released today.

Day of Defeat: Source:
  • Fixed an engine crash.
Team Fortress 2:
  • Updated PL_Hoodoo: Added a balcony at 2-1 that I've rotated and cleaned up so it's a much better point, it attracts less sentry spam but is still holdable. 2-2 has a bit more breathing room and the one way route between BLU/RED spawn in stage 3 has gone and in its place some stairs up to the second level accessible from BLU's side.
  • Added "tf_ctf_bonus_time" ConVar to set the CritBoost bonus time for capturing the intelligence (0 to disable it)
  • Added "tf_arena_first_blood" ConVar to toggle the first blood feature in Arena mode (0 to disable it)
  • Added missing snowpuff particles for DX8 players
  • Fixed rocket jumping
  • Fixed sticky bomb attachment to props. They will now only ignore the saws in sawmill
  • Fixed Scouts going into reference pose in double jumps
  • Fixed the Ubersaw not displaying team colors
  • Fixed Spies disguised as RED Scouts not cloaking properly
  • Removed two more text messages for TF_FLAGTYPE_ATTACK_DEFEND CTF game mode
You will get this update automatically via Steam.

Posted @ 9:25 PM, February 16 2009, By: DigiQ8 In Day of Defeat, Team Fortress 2

A new Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source updates have been released.
  • Sticky bombs now get a reduced close range damage ramp up (like Rocket Launcher & Syringe Gun)
  • Ultimately reduces damage done by sticky bombs to enemies <512 units from the Demoman
  • Moved the unlockable system over to the new item backend:
  • Added a warning dialog to the loadout screen telling clients when the server they're on could not get their loadout
  • Made "tf_damage_disablespread" a replicated convar, so clients can see the value of it on the server they're connected to
  • Renamed "mp_stalemate_at_timelimit" to "mp_match_end_at_timelimit", to better explain its function now that stalemate is optional
  • Fixed muzzle flashes & shell ejections still playing when viewmodels are hidden
  • Server tags can now be used to include or exclude servers from the list
Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source
  • Protected several more commands from client exploitation

Day of Defeat Steamworks Update In Beta
Posted @ 1:26 PM, May 23 2008, By: Munro In Day of Defeat

A new update adding support for Steamworks is currently available in beta for Day of Defeat: Source.
Leveraging the recently released free set of services available in Steamworks, the Day of Defeat update will add 51 achievements for DoD, player avatar display in the scoreboard and win panel, and detailed player statistics integrated with the Steam Community features (www.steamcommunity.com).

This update also adds support for popular features introduced in Valve's Team Fortress 2, the PC title named multiplayer game of the year by Gamespy.com and PC Gamer. These include "nemesis/revenge" freeze cam and new effects driven by the particle system introduced to the Source engine for TF2.

In addition, this update will also introduce a new map, dod_Palermo, which is a remix of the most popular community map, dod_salerno. Owners of Day of Defeat: Source, retail and Steam versions, may join the beta free of charge. For more information about Day of Defeat: Source or to join the beta, please visit www.steamgames.com.
I'm sure the introduction of 51 achievements will bring a few old DoD players out to prove themselves.

A poster at the Facepunch Studio forums has discovered the achievements and posted a list here.
