The first details about the new Left 4 Dead 2 DLC "The Passing" have been revealed today by Valve. The Passing is set in rural Georgia and will feature non-playable appearances by the original Left 4 Dead Survivors who will help the L4D2's Survivors during the campaign.

Players will also encounter a new "uncommon common" infected, named The Fallen Survivor, which can drop random items when killed.


Valve also announced a new add-one for the original Left 4 Dead that will tell you how the Left 4 Dead 1 surviors got to Georgia which will be released a month after "The Passing" DLC.

And that's not all - Valve is also planning to launch a Left 4 Dead comic book that "bridges the gap" between the two DLC packs and explains a little bit more about what's happening in the world. The comic will be illustrated by Powers artist Michael Avon Oeming.

"The Passing" will be released on Xbox 360 and PC in "late March" with more details on the Left 4 Dead downloadable content coming soon. More screenshots after the break.
