Portal on the iPhone?

Some guy from the internet has built an iPhone version of Valve's Portal using Unity. Now we don't know if this is real or not, though it does have all the symptoms of an iPhone game (clunky controls, low fps etc..).

Why don't you check the video here, and tell us what you think?

A new post has appeared on the Team Fortress 2 blog by the soldier himself. He does ramble on about other things but most importantly there are now 9 available avatars (1 for each class) available via Steam.

That's me lower right. When the photographer took my picture he asked me to act naturally, so I yelled at him to stop disgracing his family and get a real job

Halflife2.net Interview with Age of Chivalry
Posted @ 5:45 PM, July 14 2009, By: Hectic Glenn In Mods

Bluewolf72 managed to grab some time from AoC's Tibberius Bane and Wraiyth to ask them how their mod has progressed since getting SteamWorks support and the major changes the mod has seen since then. Age of Chivalry will soon be the first SteamWorks supported mod to use stats through Steam.
Current I think we're logging over 400 individual stats (including class records, highs, map records and overall stats for many things). Theres a lot more going on under the hood than you see on the current stats pages, including ranged weapon stats and map stats.
Many thanks for AoC taking the time to talk to us and provide us with some exclusive shots of a new map in progress AoC_Cove.

Congratulations to Campaignjunkie with the release of Radiator episode 2. Without a doubt this is one 'awesome' experience. That is, if you're interested in gay marriage counseling. This particular episode has you enter your gay partners brain and break crates to unearth memories. If this sounds like your cup of tea, give it a try!
Joystiq Left 4 Dead 2 Preview
Posted @ 7:32 AM, July 14 2009, By: DigiQ8 In Left 4 Dead 2

Joystiq had the chance to get their hands on Left 4 Dead at the recent European press event in London. Like others, they played the New Orleans campaign.
As we said during E3, the game plays identically to original. There isn't even a particularly noticeable graphics upgrade, if you ignore the dismemberment improvements. Is that a bad thing? Of course not. A bad game is a bad thing. This is just a good game, made again. With new characters, levels and some new features -- such as melee weapons and special infected.
Left 4 Dead 2 will be shown and playable in ComicCon, in a couple of weeks. In the meanwhile you can read the full Joystiq preview here.

  • Pro Cycling Manager 2009 Arrives
Posted @ 3:22 PM, July 10 2009, By: Evo In News, Steam Games

The Tour de France started up again last weekend and moved into the first of the mountain stages today, a great stage I might add. If you enjoy all the action of the Tour and cycling in general then Pro Cycling Manager 2009 is the game for you.

I played the previous edition, and whilst the races themselves aren't the best, the management side of the game is pretty fun. New in the 2009 version is the ability to create your own team, I surely will be doing that when I get the chance.

Anyway the game is available for £26.99/€35.99/€40.49 until July 17th.

    Nuclear Dawn Returns under InterWave
Posted @ 7:55 AM, July 10 2009, By: Hectic Glenn In Mods

As we mentioned earlier this year, InterWave studios the team responsible for the HL2 Stargate mod took over the dying Nuclear Dawn mod after many months of controversy and rage caused by the original development team. InterWave are hoping to rebuild Nuclear Dawn as their first commercial product and fulfil the great expectations of ND.

Today they have launched a new Nuclear Dawn website with new media and the latest ND news.
ND is a Source powered blend of first person shooter and real time strategy gameplay, with full base building, branching tech trees, and gut-blasting action in your average post-apocalyptic neighbourhood. With action from across the globe, 4 playable classes per team, RTS commander roles and earth-shaking weaponry of mass destruction.
Check out some of their new concept art in the media section. It seems Nuclear Dawn will be created this time.

    Left 4 Dead 1/2 Cross-Play Possible?
Posted @ 6:16 AM, July 8 2009, By: Evo In Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, News

In an interview with Total Video Games Valve's Doug Lombardi has revealed that they are looking at introducing cross-play between Left 4 Dead 1 and 2.

One of the things that has been floating around is the idea of cross-gameplay with the original Left 4 Dead; is this likely? That's something that we're trying to work out right now, the details of it. So nothing specific to say today, but we understand that it's a very valid thing to be working on and looking at. With the MOD stuff, if you're making stuff for Left 4 Dead it will work in Left 4 Dead 2 with very minor amounts of work to bring it over. So we feel we've made good steps on that side and now we're looking at how we manage that for folks who buy the first game and sequel.

You can read the whole thing here.
