Scout Update Website Live – Release on Tuesday 24th
Posted @ 3:30 PM, February 17 2009, By: AciD In News, Team Fortress 2
There is only one mysterious Sandman bat, be sure to check the update page every day to see more updates! You Scouts are gonna love this highly collectible bat that smacks baseballs at the other team, stunning the living crap outta anybody dumb, slow, drunk, mute or Australian enough to get in the way. The farther the ball flies before ricocheting offa some chucklehead's skull, the longer he's gonna be stunned. And guys who think they're tough because they're invulnerable? It works on them too. Now the bad news: You can't double jump when you're carrying this little beauty. On the other hand, double jumping never put anybody in a coma.
Update is coming on Tuesday 24th February: The Scout Update page

Eternal Silence Patched
Posted @ 1:42 PM, February 9 2009, By: Evo In Mods, News
The first patch for the Eternal Silence mod since it was released onto Steam has been released. If you have the mod installed on Steam then it should automatically update with the following fixes: - [FIX] Shorten transition distance from 500m to 200m to save bandwidth.
- [FIX] Made it so only ships from the hangar are networked (not all players/grenades/ion bombs)
- [FIX] Shorten ship visible distance from 1800m to 1500m.
- [FIX] Fixed player collisions, no more rubber band.
- Fixed config reset bug.
- Added Cancel button back to loading screen.
- [FIX] Allowed Target Last Attacker for passengers.
- [FIX] Bomb dropped properly when the carrier disconnects.
- [BAL] Lowered DPS on the Ion Cannon primary fire.
These fixes should go some way to sorting out the lag issues that some have been experiencing the past few days.

Left 4 Dead DLC / New Game Mode and SDK Details
Posted @ 12:36 PM, February 5 2009, By: Hectic Glenn In Left 4 Dead
We've been waiting patiently for details regarding Left 4 Dead downloadable content and the support it's going to receive from Valve in the coming year. The first release will be called the L4D Survival Pack. It is due for release this spring and introduces a new multi-player game mode, called Survival, plus two complete campaigns for Versus Mode . A Critic's Choice Edition of the game is also heading to retail stores this spring, and will include access to all the content introduced in the L4D: Survival Pack. In addition, for PC gamers and aspiring developers, the first Left 4 Dead release for the Source Software Development Kit (Source SDK) will allow the creation of custom Left 4 Dead campaigns that will be discoverable via L4D's matchmaking system. The SDK update is also due for release this spring, and is free of charge to all owners of L4D on the PC. Since Half-Life launched in 1998, Valve has made continuous efforts to expand the offering of its products beyond what's included on the day of launch. With Half-Life and Counter-Strike, and more recently Team Fortress 2, we've learned that we're no longer making stand-alone games but creating entertainment services. With Left 4 Dead we're extending that tradition by creating additional gameplay and releasing our internal tools to aspiring developers so they may also create and distribute new Left 4 Dead experiences. Indeed we shall Gabe. Winter is nearing its end.
